James was 7th in a family of 12, born on 20th August 1908.
He attended The Glen School from 1916 to July 1924. In the last year he was an unpaid monitor in the school.
On Sept 8th 1924 he and brother Michael joined the Irish Christian Brothers.
They both trained in Dublin. James was professed and took final vows on Christmas Day 1927.
He started his teaching career in Enniscorthy 1928-1932.He moved to Tipp. and later to Drogheda where he spent 18 years.
In 1952 he was changed to Marino Dublin where he first started. He became Principal of Marino and had 1000 pupils on his remit. In 1962 he got cancer and died on April 14th 1963.
He is buried in the Christian Brothers Cemetery in Marino off Griffith Ave, Dublin.
