You have established a good deal of information about the family already. 

The only baptism I could find for children of Honor and James was Margaret, baptised in the parish of Clonmellon on 10th September 1802. Her sponsors were Pat McManus and Ann Smyth.  You can search for the digitised copy on the NLI site HERE. If you have a look at Roots Ireland you will be able to check out if the Battersby baptisms listed there are relevant for later and earlier Battersby family. The fact that the name isn't very common is a big help.

You will always be able to check for the children's marriages and baptisms for their children. James and Honor married on 31st July 1801 - neither set of parents are mentioned on the marriage record. Witnesses were Nicholas Farmer and Peter Fitzsimmons. James was from the townland of Newtown and Honor from the townland of Killallon in the parish of Clonmellon. 

There are some Battersby listings on the Griffith's Valuation but I couldn't say for sure which, if any are your family:

Thank you for your time Clare.  Yes, I have most of this information.  The Battersby family has very few families in the Meath area but the families are large.  One Battersby was a Sheriff of Westmeath or some criminal justice position.  My Battersby may be related but I'm not sure how.  I believe they were probably related somehow.  Oddly, in this area of Upstate NY, USA, there was another Battersby gentleman, a William Battersby b.c.1798, I think it was, and his obituary states he was born in County Westmeath, but we don't know if they were related.  Catherine has a brother William Battersby b.c.1804, I think it was.  I do have the same information you cited.  My apologies for that.  I don't use Roots Ireland for research and because it doesn't specifically make using foreign currency for payment.  I'm paying for several genealogy venues already.  Cheers.

Our 3x great-grandmother insisted her maiden name was Batterby - without the 's.' Hence I've always been nervous about my research.  But the Irish Catholic Parish Registers clearly show the marriage of John Hassan & Catherine Battersby - and as I went through the Catholic Parish Registers by hand there was a very clear progression of the name.  Research shows the orginal Gaelic name as O hOsain (forgive my lack of accents).  In fact, one of the children's baptisms showed the parents as John Hassan & Catherine Battersby and one of the sponsors was a Hassett.  Another man who is listed in Griffith's is early listed as Hassen (or Hassan) and later as Hassett.  I found all the childrens' baptisms in the Irish Catholic Parish Registers with the aforementioned parents, as well as a child we weren't aware of who must have died young (Honor Hassett- I never found her death registered, and actually I think they had that surname spelled Haddan or something). The kids names are right but our family had all the birth years off by a few years, and the Battersby - Batterby spelling discrepancy.  Makes me wonder if they were doing it on purposed for a reason.  Additionally, there was a man in the town the originally settled in locally in the US, William Battersby, and his Find-A-Grave says he was born in Co Westmeath and is about 3 years younger than Catherine.  I'm wondering if they were siblings but have found no inforation on this.
