We know my family lived on Mulberry Street in Mitchelstown in 1810-20 We believe he had a father Corneilius but that's where our search ends. We know Michael Corbett was married to Alice Flannigan (Or Mary Alice Flannigan depending on who you talk to )and they died in Watertown Massachusetts.
Just looking for more information about Michael or Corneilius email mymail879 at me .com

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I will alert our parish liaison for Mitchelstown about your message.
Do you have a year for the marriage of Michael Corbett and Alice Flannigan? I was unable to find the marriage on Roots Ireland and they have Mitchelstown marriage records from 1815-1899.

we think about 1830? Michael was born in 1809
Alce who went by Mary Alice or Mary and it was Flannigan or O'Flannigan depending on the person documenting it, was born August 25, 1807
We know Michael was both a musician and shoe maker and I have found some information on him, but was looking to find his father and mother :)

How certain are you about the Mulberry Lane, Mitchelstown connection - what's the source of that detail ?
I found this death of Franciscan Sister Maria Corbett in 1898 in Boston , estimated year of birth 1836 and place of birth Ireland, with parents Michael and Alice - and a possible lead on her baptism in Ireland, but it's nowhere near Mitchelstown...
Do you have names and dates of other children of Michael and Alice - ideally any that may have been born in Ireland ?
These should help establish if this possible lead is correct or not.Shane Wilson, IrelandXO Volunteer ☘

Well, I know Michael and Alice died here in Watertown mass, in Michael d; 1886 Alice died 1862
I know they had a son Bryan Corbett, and the death certificate we have says Michael Corbett and Alice Flanigan (and again here name was Mary Alice, but she appears to call herself Alice here in Boston.) I have attached my great grandfathers death certificate from Norowood Ma where he is buried. They left Ireland when he was 5 years old and came over. I find them in Ohio. and then back in Boston where they stayed.
I was pretty certain Michael was from Michelstown, but I could be wrong.
I know michael and alice had a daughter Alice Corbett who married William Ahearn. I find the corbett family in the Ahearn house in a census in Ireland.Michael Corbett and Alice Corbett Kids are:
Alice Corbett
Bryan Corbett (he was found as Bryant and Brian Corbet and Corbit)
Mary Corbett
Maggie Corbett
Caty Corbett (Katherine)
Delia or Bridget Corbett (Buried with Michael and Alice as Delia W.H. Corbett Campbell.)see the attached information
The most solid information I have is that Bryan Corbett was my relative buried here in Norwood and his father and mother were Michael and Alice Corbett from Ireland.

The possible lead I located is a Maria (Mary) Corbitt (NLI Register images), parents Michael Corbitt and Alice Flanagan baptised 27th September 1832 in Corrifn/Rath/Rath and Kilnaboy RC parish Co. Clare (see the second entry for 27th, abt half way down right hand page).
There's also a marriage for Michael and Alice in the same parish on the 25th November 1831 (abt half way down left page). MIchel's surname is a little unclear - the 't' is missing the cross-bar, but looks like Corbet to me, the bride is recorded as 'Ally'.

I had a look through Corrofin baptisms and found a very good match for Brian/Bryan - baptised 6th Aug 1839 (left page - just after the faded writing), so a close match to the age suggested on his death cert.

WOw- All this information led to some NEW information for me. I don't know if this helps confirm which one of these is my family...
I found that my great great aunt was born in Co Dennegal, Ireland I don't kow where that is in relation to mitchelstown. Does that help confirm thats where they lived? I wish could come to Ireland!
Here is the record I found - the spellings are obviously all transposed wrong.
The women was no edlie - it was Delia :) (Also known as Bridget, named after Alice Corbetts Mother! Looking at those records you both, do them make any more sense, or is there a different place we should look?
IS the spelling of Co Dennegal, Ireland wrong? Is it Donegal??? This changes everything I thouht I knew :) Although, Michael could still be from Mitchelstown... but Alice had a baby in Donegal.

My reading of those transcripts on FamilySearch (1 , 2) is that John Campbell's place of of birth is Co. Denegal/Donegal, the bride's place of birth is S. Boston, which could fit the timeline suggested - i.e. Corbett family travelling to the US when Bryan was abt. 5 years old .
Co. Donegal is on the northern coast so nowhere near counties Cork and Clare. Hre's a link to a basic map of the counties of Ireland - Donegal is all way north west, Co. Cork is to the south, Co. Clare is on the western coast, north west of the river Shannon.
I'd say that John and 'Edilie' (Delia) met in the US. I'd be fairly certain that the family mentioned above with the marriage and baptisms, and especially the match for Bryan, in Corofin parish are 'your' Corbett/Flanagans

I located a marriage of Alice Corbett and Williaml Aherne on 3rd September 1857 in Ballylooby / Dunhill in Waterford and Lismore diocese. Witness David Lynch & Johanna Conway. This is probably her her birth parish and that of her parents marriage. Dunhill is approximately 60 miles from Mitchelstown.
