Good Evening...My second great-grandfather Peter McGrath married my second great-grandmother Margaret Finnegan on 15 Oct. 1854 in Clonfeacle, Armagh. I'm having difficulty tracing the parents or siblings of either. I believe that he died on 6 Jan 1896. She is on the 1901 census living on Boyd's Row where my grandmother was born and raised. I believe she passed in 1908. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...Doreen

Doreen,
Family in 1901:

Peter McGrath died on 6.1.1896 at Boyd’s Row of chronic constipation. His son John was the informant. Peter was 61, married, and a labourer.
Margaret died 5.3.1908 at Boyd’s Row. She was aged 64, and described as a widow of Peter McGrath. She died of a cerebral haemorrhage. The informant was her daughter Maggie (surname not clear, but probably Starr) of Ballybrolly.
Here’s Maggie Starr in 1911:

Elwyn...thank you for your prompt reply. I had found the documents relating to their deaths, but had no luck locating the names of Peter or Margaret's parents. If the name of either father was on the marraige certificate. Prior to Boyd's Row, they lived in or on Drumcairn Grange. I can't find births or baptisms or either of them...only their children. Thanks...Doreen

Doreen,
Sadly most RC marriage registers for the 1850s contain nothing more than the couples names, the date and their witnesses. Clonfeacle RC baptism start in 1814 so if Peter or Margaret were born there, you might find them. If not, try all the parishes nearby instead. But your problem will be that if you find a potential baptism, you have little way of saying for certain that it’s the right one. No easy way around that I am afraid.
