Thank you Col...I will look for connections...from what I found in Canada after the families immigrated, Stephen Lacey had a sister Margaret who was married to Patrick Hughs. Both Stephen and their mother immigrated to Canada with them. So do have someplace to start a search. The Hughs children born to a Patrick Hughs would be about the age I would expect my James would have been....so many well be related, especially given that they came from the same place.....I also found recently that there is a bridge dedicated to two Lacey brothers who were heroes in the Rebellion...do you know anything about that? We are coming over and it would be great to set my foot on that bridge!!! Thanks again, for all your help.

I notice the 'sibling' I sent has a different mother's surname!! Sorry.
I suggest you contact the Wicklow Tourist Info visitwicklow.ie/ re the bridge.
Enjoy the visit.
