Hello, I have been told that many of the records were destroyed in a Church fire that housed the records that could help me.

My ansestors were John & Lucy Finn, they show as having Denis, Stephen, Catherine, Edward, John Jr, and Margaret as their children based on Baptism Records that I have been able to find.  And a possible Anne Elizabeth Finn was born around 1824-26 that has been connected as their daughter as well but, the baptism records I have found show Sarah as her mother.  So it is questionable.

Castlerudry or Eadstown, of Dunlavin, Wicklow shows on the individual Baptism records.(1819-1832)

John Finn was born 1790, suspected to be Donaghmore Parish.

Lucey Ursula Drew was born 1791, and they were married (suspected) 1817.

I would really really love to find John Finn's parents, what were his parent's names and where did they originate from.  I know that John and Lucey (Lucy) immigrated to Canada (1838) and lived out the rest of their days here.

    Donaghmore civil parish is also service by Dunlavin RC parish. The Dunlavin baptismal records start in 1815 and the marriage records start in 1831 http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0475  so I don't think you will find baptismal records for John and Lucy or a marriage record.

    Thank you Roger, would be nice if there was something like a censis that we have here that shows households and who lived there during what time.

    Can you tell me please, Castlerudry, where or what is that?  And Eadstown?  It is on some of the baptismal records that I did find.

    There is a Castleruddery townland in Donaghmore civil parish. There are also four Eadestown townlands in Donaghmore: Eadestown Hill and Eadestown North, Middle and South.

  • Hi Roger, wow! I have my homework cut out for me!  I have gone through all the baptismal records (before) and I am thinking if I can sort through them to try to figure out, who might be kin, like a brother, then I might be able to find a link though that.

    There are so many Johns and Edwards... and I know the common practice of naming first born girls and first born boys, so I have hope... and if I were a betting person, I would think that Edward was the father's name of the clan that came here to Canada.
