Do you know the names of the parents for Michael and Ann. We can try to look for possible baptismal records which would identify the area in Kilkenny where they originated.

Sadly, I do not know the names of the parents.  The children's names in birth order are John, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Edward, Robert, Jane, Margaret, Ann, Catherine and Theresa.  (note: Mary Ann's and Elizabeth's birth order may be reversed.)  I don't know if there are any missing children in this list.  I include the children's names in case a naming convention might provide a clue to the given name(s) of the parents.

Sometimes the first son was named after his paternal grandfather and the first daughter after her maternal grandmother.

I found one Ann/Mary Ann  record on Roots Ireland around 1811 which is below and one Michael Power in 1797. There were alos Michael Power records in 1793 1796 and 1799.

Not all churches in Kilkenny have records back to this period so please treat these two records as leads.

Have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

I have a new lead on Michael Powers.  A death record in Read Parish, Tyendinaga Township, Ontario, Canada places his birth in County Cork.  The death record places his birth in 1790 - which is different than the earlier 1796-1797 date range for his birth.  

I know this is like chasing wild cats.  Every time you think you got one, it scoots away.
