Hello
Further research has found a record for Thomas Campbell in a 1938 outrage report for Killoe, Longford, Ireland. Would it be possible to find a find the record of this report and see what it was for. Also, if this was an arrest warrant where Thomas was sent or tried?
Thank you for your help. It is much appreciated.

Jane:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I will alert our parish liaison for Killoe about your message.
Just to confirm, you are referring to a 1938 report not an 1838 report?
Let me know if you have not heard back in ten days or so.

Hello Roger
Sorry, the typist made a mistake and entered 1938 and it is an 1838 outrage report for Thomas Campbell that we are looking for. We are still waiting to hear back from the parish liaison for Killoe.
Re: our previous requests for an obituary for Elizabeth Jones (Campbell) of Clongish and a second marriage record for Thomas Campbell, would it be possible for you to research some early newspapers for same. That would be great if you could!
Thank you again for all your help when I know we seem to be grasping at straws.

Hi Jane!
Apparently our parish liaison for Killoe is no longer working for Ireland Reaching Out!
I found the 1838 Outrage report on Find My Past which is a subscription site.
Here is a link whihc may not work if you are not an FMP subscriber. http://search.findmypast.ie/record?id=ire%2fho100%2f254%2f00553&paren"n the 3rd inst.Od=ire%2fho100%2f003557
The wording is below:
"On the 3rd inst. the house of Thomas Campbell of Fara, parish of Killoe, was entered by a man unknown who stole a carbine belonging to W. Bond Esq. to whom Campbell is steward."
Fara could be Farraghroe or Fohoragh townlands.
Let me see what I can find on your other two requests.

I went back and found your April message where Elwyn and I responded.
https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland/longford/killoe-longford/message-boar…
I looked on Find My Past which has a good number of 19th century newspapers and did not find any articles on the the death of Elizabeth. You may want to subscribe to FMP or another service which has 19th century records/newspapers.
I also did not locate the second Thomas Campbell marriage record. As I mentioned earlier the Killoe C of I records are on Roots Ireland but no second marriage for your Thomas was located. The marriage might have occured in a C of I parish not now on Roots.

To Roger
My thanks again for your help and your message re: The Outrage Report.

Following up on your info re: Outrage Reports and the fact that Thomas Campbell was a steward for W. Bond Esquire we have been trying to find more information on W. Bond and hopefully Thomas' stewardship, but our research has come up emptyhanded. Can you help further?
I'm sorry that I have not been able to take your advice re: various subscriptions. I am a senior and do not have a computer. My local librarian helps me for an hour with my research every other week. That means I could only use a subscription twice a month.
Again my thanks,

Many thanks Roger for your message of August 6th.
We appreciate your findings which are very interesting. We have found the links you sent very helpful and have used Griffith's Valuation to find out more about WIlloughby Bond. Still searching re: Thomas Campbell stewardship. Will keep you posted.

Jane,
I see a Betty (short for Elizabeth) Callnell recorded as an occupier at Farraghroe Townland, Killoe Civil Parish, County Longford in my 1854 Griffith's Primary Valuation of County Longford index book. The Callnell surname could be Caldwell (Callwell) or Campbell (Cammell).
A James Campbell, son of Archibald Campbell and Charlotte Jeremiah, Faragh was baptised in 1870 in the Corboy Presbyterian records County Longford. This was followed by the baptisms of his siblings: Archibald (1872), Charlotte (1874) and William Thomas (1875) whose addresses were given as Farragh.
Hoping this helps,

Many thanks to David Leahy re: his message of October 3rd, of Betty Callnell (possibly Campbell), from the 1854 Griffith's Valuation. However, this date is a little late for us. We are still looking for info re: Thomas Campbell's stewardship with W. Bond Esq. in 1838. Anything you can find on the stewardship say through estate files, sale of property records, Thomas' house which is referred to in the Outrage report of 1838.
