Eliza Maloney and her sister Maria arrived in Sydney NSW Australia 7 March 1861. They were registered as born in Shinrone Parish, Kings County Ireland. Eliza's age was registered as 18 years and Maria's as 20 - possibly both ages were incorrect. Eliza and Maria had been working as servants at Bellcamp House, County Dublin before their departure for NSW.
In October 1863 Eliza's other siblings arrived in Sydney on board the Severn: James, Mary, Anne, Bridget Moloney (sic). Their immigration had been sponsored by Maria Moloney (sic), Hannah Dwyer, Catherine Moloney (sic), and James Cooper Riddett (Eliza's husband).
At the time of Eliza's death in March 1879 she was survived by three children (2 boys and 1 girl), five other children (2 boys and 3 girls) had pre-deceased her. Her brother, James, registered her death
