Located a possible civil birth record for Michael Doran in 1881. The family does not appear to be in Donegal in 1901.

The only Sarah Doherty marriage to a Crossan is below but it is a Michael Crossan See below. Did Annie Crossan marry?

I knew Micheal Doran had a twin, but couldn't verify it.  The post you sent me verified that indeed he did have a twin, Eugene, both born and baptised on the same day.  Thank you!  As far as Sarah Doherty/Crossan/Crosson, I have to research that which you've found for me.  I have in my family history ...

and the resources I have from the USA are stating, the Neal Crosson 8 February 1867 was my great-great grandmother's father which in records I've researched show he is born after her birth of 1855 Annie Houghton/Crosson Clonmany, County Donegal, Ireland.

I have a feeling but only a feeling that somehow, a plan was devised before arrival by the Crosson family because of a death maybe?

Below is the page which has the civil birth record for Mary Anne. Looks like they lived in Meenavanaghan townland in Moville Upper civil parish. I located the 1901 census for Sarah and Bernard had died likely in 1885. I also found Sarah's death record in 1902. See below. There were plenty of Crosson/Crossans in the 1901 and 1911 censuses in Meenavanaghan.

The one with Neil and Owen are right! 

I have a problem with Neals BD however, Annie my gggrandmother 1855 is showing older than he and the census shows about the same age for Neil Crossan 30 years of age about 1871 married to Celia/Cicily, or Cecelia McGonagle>child Anna Crossan 1855.  He is my ggggrandfather, however to prove it is another thing...

I think I realize that at the year of his birth that records really didn't show BD of people so, they probably guessed how old they were?  If this is right then I can change the year of birth to "About" but determination keeps me going and the year has to be lower than shown in records :)  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F5YH-R3X I have enclosed this url, so, in your travels in Genealogy Researcher you can see it if you come up on any information ok?  Thank you so much for your help Roger!  Linda

Roger, what is the best record to find older generations?  I seem to be at a stand still with Crossan and I know Bernard had a father and the same with William Doran, but, I don't know where to look.  Thanks!  Linda

Finding older church records in Co. Donegal is problematic. The RC church for Moville Upper is Ishakeen and the baptismal records start in 1858 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0370  and marriage records are not available. You could sign-up for a short-term subscription to Roots Ireland. www.irishgenealogy.ie has civil birth records for free from 1864-1915, marriages from 1882-1940 and deaths from 1891-1965.
