Is it possible the family was originally from Ballinrobe Co. Mayo?? I did not find any marriage or birth/baptismal records in Sligo but did find an 1882 marriage record for a John Rooney and Mary Walsh i n Ballinrobe followed by an 1884 birth record for a son Patrick. Let me know.
