Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Looks like Fr. Sam was parish priest for Leckpatrick from 1895-1931. Below are the 1901 and 1911 census records for him and he was born in Co. Tyrone. Roots Ireland did not have a baptismal record for him. I was unable to locate a death record. You may want to contact the Diocese of Derry and see if they have additional information.

Here’s Samuel’s probate abstract, taken from the PRONI wills site. The will itself should be in PRONI in Belfast in paper format. They will copy it for a fee, if you can’t get there in person.
Connolly reverend Samuel of Woodend Strabane county Tyrone P.P. died 28 February 1931 Probate Londonderry 29 May to reverend Patrick J. O'Callaghan C.C. and reverend James O'Flaherty ecclesiastical inspector. Effects £2279 17s. 4d.
Deaths in what is now Northern Ireland, from 1922 onwards, are only on the GRONI website. You can view the original death certificate on-line, using the “search registrations” option:
You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2.50 (sterling) to a view a certificate.

Roger and Elwyn thank you both very much for getting back to me with that information. Great stuff & I used my PRONI credits to obtain the death certificate.
Many thanks again!!

Hi Eimear
Rev Samuel Connolly was my 2nd Great Granduncle. His sister Mary was my 2nd Great Grandmother.
I was just wondering if you are a Connolly decendant? If so, it would be great to hear from you :)

Hi Aine, great to hear from you.
I'm actually not sure whether Fr Sam was a relation or not but I can cerntainly tell you Family legend is that he was lol!!
My Gt Gt Grandfather was Francis Connolly m Hanna Last (Clonleigh parish) around 1864). That is the only information I have about Francis. His son Con (Constance/Connell was my Gt Grandfather & he left home, went to sea & settled in Cushendall, Co Antrim).
I would be very interested in finding out if we are related though!!
I have my father's DNA done via Ancestry.
Any suggestions would be very welcome :)
Regards

Good evening came on looking for Father Sam and anything about him My story is that if its the same priest who spent time preaching in Strabane then for some reason of healing or protection for my grandmother he gave her a cross who then passed it on to my mammy who sadly just passed away this Yr in July and like so many we soul search in the dark days of grief I have a cross belonging to him and I'm wondering if anyone else ever got one this one hasn't ever brought peace or calm to our family and to be honest I don't know what to do with it.

Hi DJ, I’m so sorry about the passing of your Mother back in 2022.
Im not sure what you did with the cross. Fr Sam was believed to have a ‘cure’ and folk travelled for miles to see him. There are a few newspaper articles around somewhere as I remember seeing one that my Granny kept.
Regards
