Mary Kinder (b abt 1776 in Cloncully, Queen’s, Ireland)
married Edward Johnston (b. 1775)
Family story is that he was a gardener and worked at Leap Castle.
They immigrated to Ontario, Canada about 1853 and lived in Toronto, Ontario.
Mary’s nieces also born in Ireland, Catherine Kinder (b.abt 1826) Elizabeth Kinder (b abt 1837) also immigrate to Ontario and marry and have families. Their father (Mary’s brother) may have been Robert, but have no documentation proving this.
Hoping to visit Laois in May 2018 and hope to locate where Elizabeth and Catherine were born.
Elizabeth is my 2nd great grandmother.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched Roots Ireland and did not find a baptismal record for Catherine or Elizabeth. The earliest Kinder baptismal records was in 1852 for an Emily Kinder. There was also a Bridget in 1855 Mary 1857 Robert 1859. The transcriptions for Bridget and Robert are below. You will note in Bridget's record the family was living in Cloncully. My guess is that Henry was a brother to Catherine and Elizabeth and since the only son where I located a baptismal record was named Robert, likely Henry's father was Robert
The 1853 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Offerlane civil parish shows a Henry Kender in Cloncully http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/laois/offerlane.htm

Thank you so much for the quick response.
Indeed Henry could be a relation. Cloncully certainly fits with info on Mary Kinder's birthplace.
The family in Canada were Church of England.
Is or was there a protestant church in that parish?
If so, do you know where would I look for records?

According to this link https://www.ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/registers…; Church of Ireland records for Offerlane parish are held in the Representative Church Library in Dublin.
