Hi
I intend to visit the Boyle, Ballinameen, Estersnow areas this year to look up records marriage death birth etc. In particular the death records post 1966. In the Boyle area where and or who do I need to make appointments with. I want to plan my visit before I head to the area.
Thank you

Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!
I'm not sure that you can access post-1966 death records. Your best bet is to e-mail the GRO and ask them what records can be viewed. The office is in Roscommon town. All the contact details are below.

A colleague in Dublin saw your post and my response. He indicated that you can search for post-1966 death records and post-1916 birth records at the GRO research facility in Werburgh St. Dublin
https://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/GRO_Research.aspx
He does not believe the Roscommon site is open to the public.
Did not know if your trip included a stop in Dublin.

Hi Roger
Once again you have been very helpful. I am from Dublin and will be flying in and setting off from there to Boyle. I’ll spend some more time with my family and do some research at the GRO.
I did write a letter to the Roscommon Herald to see if someone had information about my relative. As yet no replies.
All the very best and thanks again
David
