Dear all, am hoping you can direct me to the appropriate place to further my research.
My 4th Great Grandparents were Philip Devereux and Catherine Murphy c1795.
I have their marriage as February 1819, Taghmon Parish. What is confusing me is that they already had one child born in Liverpool (William 1817) and they have apparently 'come home' to marry and to have their next 3 children. Alice, Philip and John.
I have bookmarked a possible baptism for Catherine Murphy 1795 and parents of Neils Murphy and Ann Field - also interesting is that this is a twin birth Patrick being her brother. On their marriage entry, they have a Catherine Field as one witness and also James Connor. Am I right in thinking this Catherine Field is a cousin? I can only find one reference to a Neils Murphy and that is as a witness to a marriage in 1816. Would this be their brother or would it be their father?
I am visiting Wexford area in February 2018 and hoping to do some more research. Any pointers much appreciated.
I have drawn a total blank on Devereux.
