Good Day,

I am trying to find family that may be in Powerstown or anywhere in Ireland. I have researched my history back to Patrick Kelly born in 1770 and died in 1819 in Powerstown Ireland. He had 4 children and they were Patrick, Elizabeth, John, and William. William moved to Canada and started a family. Patrick's wife's name was Mary Fenlon. I would like to connect with some family in Ireland.

Thank you

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

It will be difficult to find living family in Ireland because of the surname Kelly. The 1849 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing shows nine Kelly records in Powerstown including a John and a Patrick but you have know way of knowing if they were brothers to William.

Have you considered autosomal DNA testing? Possibly you will have matches with people with Kelly connections and more info on the descendants of Patrick Kelly and Mary Fenlon. Your matches could be in Canada, America, Australia or Ireland.

You can also add William's story to our Powerstown parish page under Ancestors  https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…;  Possibly someone will recognize the family and comment.
