Hi, I just joined irelandxo today. I am a second generation American of Irish descent. My paternal grandfather was named Thomas Emmet at birth. He was the son of Robert Emmet of Kilmallock. He lived in Ballynagoul until he emigrated to the States with his brother Timothy. Once stateside the spelling of his name changed from Emmett to Emmet. I am hoping to connect with others who are related to this family or who are familiar with the area.
