Once again, posting hoping that what I've pieced together makes sense to someone. A "Walsh" family is never easy to trace.
My ancestor Bridget Walsh came to New York from Roscommon with her father James Walsh, mother Mary Ann and sister Catherine. Dates are never consistent but census records generally say Bridget was born ~1851, Catherine ~1853, James ~1818 and Mary Ann ~1827. They arrived in NYC around 1854, though I have not found any formal records.
I believe this James Walsh is the same James Walsh that was born 19 Jan 1819 and baptized 11 Nov 1819 in Croghan, Roscommon. His parents were Patrick and Mary Walsh and his baptism sponsors Thomas Walsh and Elizabeth Flanagan. Based on genetic matches Flanagan does seem like a fairly common name in my matches leading me to believe Mary Walsh's maiden name may have been Flanagan.
What is odd is I have not been able to trace any records for Bridget or Catherine, nor a marriage record for James and Mary Ann in Co. Roscommon.
Later US census records reveal James and Mary Ann had more children in New York including Mary Ann b. ~1855, John b. ~1859, James Jr b. ~1861, Joseph b. ~1870 and Francis or Frank b. ~1870. There are death records for strickingly similar gentlemen Francis, James and John that indicate they each were the son of James Walsh and Mary Ann McGuiness/ McGuinness.
In my research I haven't been able to confirm this is infact the correct maiden name.
Any thoughts are appreciated!

In the NY State Census of 1865 is the following family.
James Jr. b: 1818 47 yrs, Mary Ann (wife) b: 1827 38 yrs, Bridget (daughter) b: 1851, Catherine (daughter) b: 1853, Mary Ann (daughter) b: 1856, John (son), b: 1859, James (son) b: 1861
This census record states that Catherine and MaryAnn were born in Kings, NY and Bridget was born in Ireland.
I haven't found any marriage, birth or church records yet.

I wish your relatives, were the same ones I am looking for, but I fear not. Names are simular but birth years are off.
I am looking for a Catherine/ Cathreina "Kitty" born in 1827 her maiden name is unknown to me. However she married Roderieck McLaughlin in 1852 or 1853. Like wise, getting information is very hard. Their first child was Patrick and baptized in Derry, in 1853. He was the Coachman at an Estate know as Monellan. Patrick was also, when he grew into the job. The Estate is no longer around. If anyone has information or remember a story about the "people" who lived or worked for the DELap family who owned the estate, I would like to here about it.
Good luck with your search.

You're correct. The 1875 and 1880 census show Catherine's birth as in New York. I'm not sure where I got the Ireland piece from, but I do know I've had conflicting information on both her and Bridget's births. This would place the family's move earlier than I had originally thought.
@Noel Kelly
This is great but what is the year signify? The earliest is at least 7 years after his birth.
