I am seeking information on Samuel Robinson & his wife (unidentified) who I believe was the father of William Robinson of the parish of Donaghe(a)dy, Co Tyrone, and any as yet unidentified siblings.

William married Jane Finlay (various spellings).  She was born C1815.

Their children were baptised in the C of I, Donaghe(a)dy:

James, 21/10/1833, William was a farmer, Donagheady

Robert, 19/5/1835, William was a labourer, Donagheady

Mary Anne, 1/10/1837, William was a weaver, Bunowen

John, 10/4/1840, William was a labourer, Bunowen

Jane, 26/3/1843, William was a labourer, Bunowen

William, 12/1/1845, William was a labourer, Tullyard

Robert, 21/3/1847, William was a labourer, Tullyard

I believe there could also be a Samuel, Thomas and maybe a Joseph.

Jane Robinson, aged 34, of Tullyard was buried 19th March 1849. (ie b 1815)

There is a marriage for William Robinson (widower), labourer, of Tullyard, son of Samuel Robinson, farmer,  to a Martha Donnelly (widow), of Tiveny,  on 7th Feb 1850, daughter of Robert Woods, farmer in the Donagheady Presbyterian Church.  I have been unable to identify her first husband.

A son Robert Donnell was born C1855.  The only reason we know of him was that he came to Victoria, Australia, and married in Rosedale, Victoria and I believe that Robert Robinson (mentioned above) was a witness at the marriage.

A Samuel Robinson is shown on the Griffith’s Valuation with property at Tullyard.  I presume him to be the first mentioned Samuel, but may be a son.

James married Eliza(beth) Kennedy and was in California in 1860. He was in the 1870 CA census but not in the CA 1880.  They had 6 children of which 3 reached adulthood, William Simpson, James Finlay and Eliza.  Elizabeth’s family stayed in California.

John married but there is currently confusion about his wife Matilda (possible surname James).  They had one son, William James in Grass Valley, CA in 1868.  She died in 1872 at Grass Valley.  At some stage John came to Victoria, Australia and married at Rosedale to Jane Allen.  They had three children.

Robert married Sarah Jane Lloyd in Co Westmeath in 1874 and 3 weeks later they sailed for America.  According to her obituary they went to California before coming on to Victoria, Australia but when has not been found.  They settled in Rosedale also and eventually had 9 children, 7 surviving.  They moved to Shepparton where Robert died in 1896.  After this the family went to Western Australia.

I know this is rather long winded but I am hoping to find out about the siblings of these men, their mother and father.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you.  Kathy.
