William Donohue any speling born 1827 Dublin city father William and Mother Ellen/Hellen Miller/Millar. His sister Catherine Jane Born est 1816 Dublin. Catherine came to Australia as convict in 1837. later she sponsered her brother William and his son John aged 11 in 1863. Like find all there Baptisms and marriages to go back further in my irish research.

Do you know what denomination your Donohue/Miller family were ?
Catholic and Church of Ireland records for most of the parishes in Dublin city are avalable on the free IrishGenealogy website, and there are a number of William Donohue baptisms showing up around that time, although none that I found with the parents you mentioned...
Widening the search a lttle to just Donohue and the parents firstname shows at least three baptisms to a Willian Donohue and Ellen Smyth - all girls, Bridget bapt. 30 January 1830, Elleanor bapt. 17th May 1824 , and Catherine bapt. 17th February 1822, all baptised at SS. Michael & John (RC) Dublin City.

Thank you for your help. Searched all spelling of Donohue but Ellen Miller on marriage in Australia. of William Donohoe for his 2nd marriage also his son John Donohoe born 1852 Dublin was 11yrs when came to Australia .no other children hence wife died?. also name of Margaret Meliphant on William's death copy in Australia .maybe step mother?Cant find this name in Ireland Mellepant but at a loss getting a lead.tried Griffith Valuation cenus . On William Donohoes immigration said native of Dublin CIty!!!! Said catholic/Thank you Diane.

Do you know the name of the mother to son John Donohoe (b 1852) ?
e.g. from his marriage or death cert... this could help narrow down the correct baptism for him and at least give a starting point with the Dublin parish they lived in etc.
