Hello Roscommoners!
My name is Susan Gilzean and I am currently working on my Irish 3rd GGM's family. I am looking for anyone who has knowledge of ANY of the Waldron family from Strokestown. My direct ancestor was Margaret Waldron, b. 1828, daughter of Thomas and Eleanor Mulloolly/Mulloy etc. It appears that Margaret and an older sister were shipped to Canada and ultimately made their way to USA. I'm trying to gather any info on any of her sibs (Anne, Bridget, Ellen, John, Mary, Alice, Thomas and Patrick, all born between abt 1822 and 1837. The last 2 boys immigrated to Australia and Philadelphia respectively. Thanks in advance for any info you can send my way. Thx! Susan

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The records for Strokestown RC parish start in 1830 so records for most of the Waldron children will not be available. The subscription site Roots Ireland did have baptismal records for Mary in 1831 and Alice in 1832. The mother’s surname was shown as Mulloy.
Roots did have a marriage record in Strokestown in September 1857 for an Alice Waldron to a John Geraghty. Possibly this is the sister of Margaret.
You may want to add Margaret’s story to our XO Chronicles site.
Have you considered DNA testing?
