Patrick McGivern was born in 1821 in Lisnacunna Co Cork.
He was a farmer at Lisnacunna in the Parish of Desertserges.
His father was John McGivern.
Patrick married Eliza Sullivan in 1857 in the Parish Church in the Parish of Desertserges.
The marriage certificate states that Eliza was only 17 at the time of her marriage.
Eliza's father was Thomas Sullivan, also a farmer.
Patrick died in 1891 of chronic hepatitis at Lisnacunna.
The 1911 Census of Ireland shows that Eliza was living in Ballinvereensig, Inniskenny. She was widowed and had 12 children, 10 of whom were living.
Eliza died in 1915.
Patrick and Eliza's daughter called Eliza was born in 1859. She married Robert Chambers in 1881 and had 13 children. She emigrated to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1923 following 9 of her children.
