My MURPHY & KENNEDY ancestors lived in Tipperary before going to Canada ca.1831. From the Roman Catholic parish records I've located the right family:
James MURPHY married Catherine KENNEDY at Nenagh in 1829 - witnesses were John CARROLL & Bridget BYRNES. Their son John MURPHY was bapt. at Thurles in 1830 - sponsers were Catherine RYAN & John FAHAN(?). The family then went to Prince Edward Island ca.1831.
If I assume the standard Irish naming pattern, the following are possible baptisms for the parents above:
- James MURPHY bapt. 1800 at Loughmore and Castleiny, parents John MURPHY & Margaret CARROLL - witnesses were James CARROLL & Mary KENNEDY. This John Murphy was a gardener, living at Pudding Lane in Thurles in 1810 and 1814.
- Catherine KENNEDY bapt.1809 at Cashel, parents Edmd. KENNEDY & Cath. SCANLAN - sponsers were Michael HEFFERNAN & Margt. Phealan(?).
I'd love to connect with anyone researching these families or who could point me to useful information.
Thanks.

Hi Margot,
James MURPHY & Catherine KENNEDY/MURPHYwent to PEI, Canada, ca.1831. They lived in PEI and New Brunswick and did not go to Australia.
Their son Edward MURPHY was born in PEI in 1835 and DID go to NSW Australia, where he was married to Grace ENGLISH in 1866. Edward and Grace went on to have 13 children.
Do you have a connection here?
Cheers, Allan

Hi Allan, no sorry no connection.
I saw the Edward Murphy in Australia born in PEI, that's why I asked.
Also, I used your spelling Cathn and Edwd and found...............Thomas, Baptised 13th May 1813
Patrick, Baptised 2nd Feb. 1819
They do have a Catherine as well but a different year to 1809.Just wondered if they were her brothers.

Hi Alan. I recieved a message from someone through Ancestry.com that you were trying to contact me regarding my McKeith line through Lismore, Argylle. How can I help?

Hi there, Yes, definitely interested in making contact about the McKeiths of Lismore. This is probably not the right forum for that, so could you please get in touch at odramm@gmail.com?
Thanks, Allan
