The 1946 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final (at Croke Park, Dublin) was the 59th All-Ireland Final – an inter-county Gaelic football tournament for the top teams in Ireland.

Legend tells how Roscommon had a six-point lead, only to lose it in the final three minutes of the championship final against Kerry (Tom 'Gega' O'Connor and Paddy Kennedy scoring the goals).

KERRY  2-4       |    ROSCOMMON  1-7

The replay was held on 27 October, when Roscommon was again beaten. The injured team-captain, Jimmy Murray, was having blood wiped from his face to "look right" for the presentation when Kerry struck for two late equalising goals.

KERRY  2-8       |    ROSCOMMON  0-10
