Bridget Moraghan (pronounced Morahan) was the wife of Patrick Barrett Jr. (1812-1863) of Ballinvilla.
They raised a family of 13 on farm #6 in the east of Ballinvilla townland near Croghan during the ravages of the Great Irish Famine (1845-52). Their children were baptised in the Catholic parish of Killucan (now Croghan RC parish) just south of Boyle.
Brigid Moraghan survived her husband by 23 years and saw many of her children emigrate to the USA, mainly the parish of Rapides in Louisiana. She died of a cold, age 73 in the presence of her daughter-in-law, Eliza (wife of James Barrett).
