On the 23rd of October 1969, Samuel Beckett was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature "for his writing, which - in new forms of the novel and drama - in the destitution of modern man acquires its elevation"

The Dublin-born author is best known for his play, 'Waiting for Godot' and he is recognised as one of the greats amongst Irish writers.

  • I think that Samuel Beckett was an amazing author. He wrote a lot of great plays, and even though they are very different from one another, they are all very well written. I really like how he uses metaphors and word play in his writing. By reading articles at https://happyessays.com/free-essays/death-of-a-salesman/, I have learned a lot about him. I can't think of any other writer who could have come up with something so innovative.
