My ancestor, John Madigan, was born in Limerick in 1814 and emigrated in 1841 to New York with his (I believe) brother Michael Madigan and his wife, Johanna.
A relative in Australia believes he is the descendant of Thomas Madigan, son of Thomas Madigan, and brother to my John Madigan.
My Australian relative believes that Thomas Madigan is from Rathkeale.
I know no more (sadly). Any suggestions for ways to research this (possible) connection?
I'm aware that there were quite a few Thomas Madigans across County Limerick according to Griffith's Valuation.
Thanks kindly,
Elizabeth

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The subscription site Roots Ireland has these baptismal record from 1810 in Limerick city. I would treat them as a lead.
