Bridget Gillooley was born in Lissonuffy, Roscommon, the niece of Rev. Laurence Gillooley who became the Bishop of Elphin. She married Michael Jourdan. Their son Willliam, my grandfather, was born in Easky in 1865.
They came to the US and settled in Pittston, Pennsylvania.
Does anyone have any more information about her?
The story is that she could read and write French and English. I don't know about Irish.
