John McKeogh a quarryman was born c1816 in Ballina Tipperary. He married Mary Carey b c1811 and by 1847 they had 2 children Honoria 5 and William 3. Circumstances got very bad for the family so John emigrated to Sydney NSW on the Sir Edward Parry arriving there on 17 February 1848.
