Looking for Catherine Dempsey and husband John Gilmartin

The subscription site Roots Ireland actually has baptismal records for five children born to John Gilmartin and Catherine Dempsey. Besides James there were records for Michael John Ann and Brigid. See transcriptions below. I did not locate a marriage record. Possibly Catherine's record was missed in transcription. I will look at the register.

By the way, I looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilteevan civil parish and there were four Kilmartin records including a John in Aghmagree townland. Possibly this is your ancestor. https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/roscommon/kilteevan.htm

I went thru the parish register and did not see an entry for Catherine. It was a very legible register https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0564  with records starting in October 1837. (Roots Ireland indicates they have baptismal records starting in 1820.)  

There are a number of possibilities. First, the priest failed to add Catherine's record to the register. Second, Catherine was actually the oldest child and born in 1834 or earlier and in a nearby parish where records no longer go back to 1834. The marriage also likely occurred in this parish (bride's parish) since Roscommon RC marriage records start in 1820.

Hello Roger!            I am wondering about the record of Maria Gilmartin, who is also a daughter of Catherine Dempsey and John Kilmartin.  She is my direct ancestor born around 1838.  I had a record for her, but the parent's names were different.  Then I found her death certificate which specifically listed Catherine Dempsey and John Gimartin as her parents.  I am looking for confirmation of this.  I wonder also if my John Kilmartin had strong ties to Roscommon?  How could I find this out?

In looking at my responses, I was confusing Maria with her mother Catherine. I could not find Maria's baptismal record on the register. Sorry!
