Phair family of Ballintober/Castlerea/Ballymoe
Hello. I'm looking to further my knowledge of my Phair family origins. My branch of the Phair family emigrated to Aus between 1852 and about 1860. They were Thomas, John, William, George and Margaret, all the children of Thomas Phair and Margaret Higgins. They were born in Ballintober from 1820 ish through to the 1830s and I have researched their lives in Australia, but am missing some pieces from back in Ireland. Ellen Phair remained in Ireland and married Michael Cook in 1845. She had children but I don't know anymore about her. She had a sister Bridget Phair, but I know nothing further about her.
Then there are the family branches from Castlerea, which I have researched reasonably well, but the Ballymoe (Galway) branch alludes me.
Can anyone assist me in regards these family members?
Thank you. Wayne Phair. Melbourne.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
What was the religious denomination of your family?
I have done a number of searches on the subscription site Roots Ireland in Co. Roscommon and Co. Galway East and did not find any records for the Michael Cook/Ellen Phair family. Based on the availability of RC records for Ballintubber/Ballymoe parish https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0541 some records should be available. If the family was Church of Ireland then we need to look for availability of records.
I also did not see a record in the 1855 Griffiths Valuation for Michael Cook in either Roscommon or East Galway.

Hello Roger.
Thanks for your response.
My lot were the orange in your tricolour. Church of Ireland. Hope that doesn't offend these days.
Eleanor (Ellen) married Michael Cooke in Castlerea in 1845. He was the son of Francis Cooke, a farmer from Ballintober. I strongly suspect Michael passed away prior to 1860, because an Ellen Cooke married a James Hall in 1860 and her father was listed as Thomas Phair.
Thats the only extra info I have on her sorry.
Thanks for any help you can give me

This link https://www.ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/registers/ParishRegisters/PARISHREGISTERS.pdf has the status of all Church of Ireland parish records. The information provided for Cloone (Cloon) is confusing but I think the pre-1880 records are not available.
