Malachi is a younger son of John KEALY born 1771 in Kylenabehy and Sarah FLEMING born 1782 in Moyadd.
The oldest son, John KEALY born 1806 retained the tenancy of the farm, while other offspring dispersed. Several, from his marriage to Mary MacDonald of Knockbaun are buried in St. Mary's Cemetary, Wolfhill.
William KEALY born 1808 stayed to work on the farm, died 1888, Kylenabehy, buried Wolfhill.
Thomas KEALY, born 1809, married Mary BERGIN and raised a large family in nearby Slatt; several are buried in St. Mary's.
James KEALY, born 1812, married Ellen COMERFORD and raised a family in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny.
Mary KEALY, born between 1803 and 1820, married John PRENDERGAST, emigrated to US in 1847, first to Boston, then New York. They produced at least 4 children and did very well financially and socially. She returned to Ireland, died 1889 and was buried near brother James in Castlecomer. Progeny currently live in USA.
There may possibly be other children, likely female, of this KEALY/FLEMING marriage.
Malachi (Malachy) is alleged to have gone to Australia. He is likely to have been in Laois until about 1850. To date we have no further record of his existence in Ireland or Australia. We are seeking any information related to him.

Hello BSHEEP, I have been asked to look over old unanswered queries and you have done some great research, the only path I can offer if you have not done DNA is to try some private Facebook groups on genealogy, there are a number and some for quiet precise areas. I see two for Laois but the membership is not huge as these groups go, if you want to search there, those involved are usually committed and will answer usually on the ones I am on.
Good Luck
Pat
