Please help if you can! I have a “person of special interest” in my search for my 2xGreat Grandmother. Specifically, I hope to connect with any decedents of MICHAEL MAHONY and ELLEN CROWLEY of Bandon (Ballymodan, Kilbrogan & Desert Serges). Their children (at least those I’ve identified) were: JOHN (born 1817), CATHARINE (1820), JULIA (1822), ELLEN (1828) and possibly PATRICK (1829, mother listed as NANCE Crowley).
I’m focusing on JULIA based on the little we know after combing through other possibilities for three reasons: a) date of birth — 1822, b) traditional naming pattern consistently used elsewhere (her 1st born and my great grandmother were both named Ellen, and c) fits what I have heard as the “Five Mile Rule” for finding a spouse (my 2xGGrandfather, TIMOTHY HANNON, was from Ballinadee).
I manage three siblings’ accounts on Ancestry.com and GEDmatch. If you are linked as a distant cousin with anyone with the family named BURBACH on Ancestry it is likely one of the four of us. I, Richard Burbach, am also on 23andMe and FamilyTree.com but my three siblings are not.
Our GEDmatch #s are:
FL9074605
PZ9225512
UN4735432
AS1058432
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide. I would be most grateful to discover that we are cousins. My personal email address is: Burbach816@gmail.com

Hi Richard,
I don't have any information on Julia but I've found a Cathrine Mahony buried in Bandon who died in 1791. Here is a link to the grave --> https://historicgraves.com/kilbrogan/co-klbg-0015/grave. I wonder is that the mother or a relative of your Michael Mahony? There are plenty more Crowleys and Mahonys listed in the Graveyard from around that time so it might be worth having a digital peek around! Here is a link to the Graveyard page on Historic Graves. https://historicgraves.com/graveyard/kilbrogan/co-klbg
I hope this is of some interest!
David
