Does anyone know whether school attendance records for County Carlow would be available and where would they be found. The time I am looking at is from about the 1880's to the 1940's.

Hi,
From what I know there is no organised repository where it is compulsory to deposit school records. Therefore, it is very dependent on what each school decides to do. For many schools early records don't exist. Where they do exist they are generally kept in the school. So if you are searching for school records you would really need to know the specific school and then ask the principle ofr the board of management.

It is very, very unlikely that school records would be digitised.
