My Grandads family....
Looking for further information regarding Grandad Sheehans family. The information I have so far
Father; Maurice Sheehan b somewhere between 1845-1851?
his Mother : Bridget Creedon (Downey) ....she was married to Patrick Downey and widowed shortly after. I am not sure in what circumstances Patrick died only that he was around 30 years of age.
His siblings were all baptised at St. Colmans Cathedral, Queenstown (Cobh) Cork. I only have their baptismal dates not their exact dates of birth (other than my Grandads)
John baptised 04 Jul 1880 Sponsors: John Creedon/Bridget Buckley
Maurice 26 Mar 1882 John Buckley/Ellen Shea

I am assuming the "sponsors" were the same as Godparents and possibly family relatives or friends?
Some background information:
I know my Grandad left Queenstown (Cobh). He met and married my Scottish born Gran (who by all accounts was an orphan) They married in St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands in 1935. The first born passed away less than a week old, the other 2 were by Aunt and my Dad. Grandad left St. Helier when the germans invaded and went to Plymouth, Devon where he later died at the grand old age of 97 - his goal had always been to make it to 100 so he could get a telegram from the Queen :) !
I would dearly love to know what happened to the rest of my Irish ancestors and where they ended up.
