Andrew travelled to Denver and Victor Colorado USA to work as a miner for some period before 1909 when he finally emigrated to British Columbia Canada to work as a coal miner.
He is listed in the 1901 Irish Census as living with his parents in Swineford.
He married Mary Ellen McGowan in Manhattan, New York on Nov 1, 1903. It is not known if they met in Ireland or in New York.
She is listed in the 1901 Irish Census as living with her parents in Kilturra, Doocastle, County Mayo
.It appears Mary Ellen returned to Swineford for the birth of their three eldest children: Winnifred Elizabeth (1906), Johanna (1907) and John James (1909). She joined her husband in British Columbia in May 1911 aboard the Empress of Britain.
They had six more children in British Columbia: Mary (1912), Joseph Patrick (1913), Frank Andrew (1915), Nora Agnes (1917), Genevieve Catherine (1919) and Rita Theresa (1921).
Can anyone provide info about their emigrations to the US, where they met?. Thanks.

Mary and her children were living in Carrowcanada in the 1911 census http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Mayo/Swineford/Carrowc…
I located the 1921 Canadian census. Mary said that she emigrated in 1910 (a year off) and Andrew in 1909. No mention about their first crossing.
Have you considered looking at Ellis Island incoming records to see when Andrew and Mary arrived in America the first time? www.ellisisland.org
