James was the second child (that I have found) of James McAtee and Mary Keenan. Their first child was Catherine, Born in Donagh Parish, County Monaghan on 10 September 1848.
I can't find a marriage record for the parents John & Mary, so don't know where they came form, if they were married in Co Monaghan or elsewhere. I have no record or information why they were in Donagh Parish, where they stayed etc so would love to know anything if anyone has any details or suggestions I would be eternaly grateful.
By 20/09/1857 they were ins Saintfield co Down for the birth of Son Owen.
