Samuel came to Brisbane , Australia, with wife Mary (nee Riley - actual spelling in some doubt) accompanied by seven of their nine children: Samuel, George, Robert,William, James, Thomas, and a married daughter Mrs Bothwell, in 1863.Ship "Cairngorm". For some reason, they travelled with the surname Smith. Later, another daughter, Elizabeth Fegan, came to Australia, apparently entering the country at Cooktown, Queensland , where her brother Samuel by then resided.
