CORK ANTI-SLAVERY SOCIETY PUBLIC MEETING

The Members of the Anti-Slavery Society, and of the friends to the gradual abolition of Slavery, will be held at the Friends Meeting House, in Duncan Street, on Monday the 28th inst, for the purpose of adopting a Petition to the Legislature, praying they may be pleased,  without further delay, to give effect to their own humane resolution of early 1823, that "early, effectual and decisive measures should be taken for ameliorating the condition of the Slave Population in the British Colonies, and for raising them to a participation in those Civil Rights and Privileges, which are enjoyed by other classes of his Majesty’s Subjects. 

The Chair to be taken at One o’clock.
