The Quiet Man Cottage Museum is housed in an exact replica of the White O'Morn cottage seen in the film.  The film starred John Wayne (John Thornton) and Maureen O'Hara (Mary Kate Danaher) and was shot in 1952.

There is a bronze statue of Mary Kate Danaher and John Thornton in the village and many visitors come every year to see where the movie was hot.  The Quiet Man Museum is one of the most popular attractions in the village.  The museum houses replicas of all the key furnishings and costumes.  The original interior of the White O’Morn interior was a Hollywood set.  The museum also holds the largest collection of Irish newspaper articles from the time the movie was filmed.

You can take a walking tour of the locations where the film was shot and these locations include Inisfree, the Dying Man’s house, the fight scenes, the Reverend Playfair’s House, Pat Cohan’s Bar, the courting scenes, etc.  Private chauffeur tours are available also.  

While there, a visit to Ashford Castle is a must.  The 800-year-old castle is Ireland's only Forbes Five Star Hotel and the former home of the Guinness family,  The grounds were used for various scenes throughout filming.
