Parents of Timothy Charles Finnerin

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were no Charles Finnerin (and variant) baptismal records in Co. Roscommon. Only about ten of the RC parishes in Co. Roscommon have records back to 1826.
 

The surname Finneran was mostly found in the southern part of Co. Roscommon. Dysart, Moore and Taughmaconnell are possible parishes.

Thank you for the reply. I have wondered if the family name got changed from Finneran to Fiinnerin some time during copying of records. I often found the US census records from one decade to the next would have spelling differences as well as dates of birth.

My daughnter spent a year in Longford Ireland after her retirement in the mid-1950's. At that time I wasn't nearly close tracing to Ireland. What a shame she could have seen the area where her Great Great Gandfather was from, since it was only a few miles, (Kilometers, away. She loved the area and would like take me too she that area. I fear my age makes that unlikely. Two years ago, I took a guided tour with a local theater group to England and Scotland, didn't get to Ireland or Wales. The returm trip was long and it took a could a toll on me. Plus, I was two years younger.

I will pursue US records in Vermont. Some marriage records require the parents names of both the bride and groom.

Searching in US immigration records indicated Timothy Charles Finnerin, might be the son or sibling of a John Finnerin, possibly from Athlone county, Ireland.

Can you rever me to a helping webe site for that county?

Athlone is a large town on the Shannon River partially in Co. Roscommon and partially in Co. Westmeath  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlone

I went back and searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and there are no Charles Finneran baptismal records anywhere in Ireland. I noted that you had changed the name from Charles Timothy to Timothy Charles but the earliest Timothy record is in 1850 in Co. Roscommon.

Again thank you for your reply. I have so little information on Timothy Charles Finnerin. Will search such rrecords as marriage forms, they someplaces require the name of parents to be provided. Possibily an obituary for Timothy might also provide some clues. Will also recheck old US census records. There are few great grandchildren my age that might have information.
