Birth of Maria or Mary Flaherty 1862.jpg

It appears that they had a daughter Mary Flaherty 1862 born in Lettermullin. My records show her name as Maria with the same parents names as shown on her death certificate, Boston, Ma. Should I continue to look for a Maria or is this name interchangable?

Hi,
Mary was often recorded as Maria, Marie, Mariah in later years.
Unless you can find a couple in Lettermullan with the same names, I would accept the baptismal record.
Many Irish women changed their names, both first and second, on arrival in the US.
