Hello hope your all well. I am really struggling to find a marriage of my grandparents. James Brady and Bridget Cunningham they would of got married in about 1938 to 1940 I know her parents where Mary reddington and Michael cunningham but don't know my grandad as his mum passed away in child birth and his father put him and his siblings in a orphanage was never seen again. I know in 1941 they lived at louth lodge. And had my dad and his siblings. I know they came over to the UK in the late 60s early 70s and that all I know. I would be very very grateful if someone could help or point me in the right direction

  • Hi,

    If you could find the Irish civil marriage record for Bridget and James, it would show the first names of their fathers. With his father's name, you might be able to identify James further.  But I looked in the civil marriage records at irishgenealogy.ie and did not see a marriage for James and Bridget.  Is it possible they married outside Ireland?

  • I found this marriage at irishgenealogy.ie. The woman is Mary , not Bridget, and her father was Patrick.

    This seems to be Brigdet Cunningham parents marriage from the details you have given .Have you any idea as to where your grandparents married ?

  • Hi could my grandma as used Mary on her marriage record as I'm sure she was called bridget Mary and could she of put Patrick down as her father Michael passed away when she was only 4 and they when living with her auntie Margaret burns and Michael burns I know that might sound a silly question

    Is this your Bridget Cunningham's birth  13th April 1906.

    If it is...searching by Cunningham Reddington I see these children.
    Simon  1899
    Ellen    1903
    Bridget  1906
    Patrick    1908
    Looking at the 1901 Census 
    Margaret 1896
    John 1897
    And the above 4 children.
    They are living with Mary's sister.
    In the 1911 Census 
    John
    Simon
    Ellen
    Patrick.
    This must have been when Bridget/Mary moved to Dublin where she married.
    Moving on to Dublin, searching Familysearch.org I can only see ...........

    Christopher A  Brady  1939
    James J Brady  1940
    Elizabeth M Brady   1941.
    Are these the correct people?
