Is this church closed because of the COVID pandemic, staffing difficulties, or some other reason? From images visible at GoogleEarth the building and church yard appear to be well tended. Are parishioners or other people allowed to visit the church yard and gravesites gathered there? I am looking for Corrigan/Carrigan and Lyon (I believe all are/were RC) ancestors who may have lived in nearby townlands.

I don’t think the church is closed. There was a funeral there on 30th Jan 2022 according to their Facebook page. If in doubt contact the parish office:

At one point churches were closed for Covid reasons but that was a while back but there’s never been any restrictions on visiting graveyards. Sometimes churches are slow to respond to genealogical enquiries. Some get rather more than they can cope with. Some are very good at replying. Others don’t reply at all.

Many thanks Elwyn. I hope I can visit the Finn valley and confirm my genealogical theories.
