My great-great grandfather was Thomas Reilly was born about 1815 and lived on the Townland of Kilnavara, county Cavan. He married Catherine Phillips about 1840. One of his children was my great grandfather John Reilly who was born about 1842 and emigrated to Brooklyn, New York, about 1864, and died there in 1880. John married Catherine Flanigan in Brooklyn in 1866 and had my grandfather George Reilly in 1878. George met Ann Quinlan in New York and the two traveled to San Francisco where they were married in 1907. They had my father Thomas Michael Reilly in SF in 1908 and soon after changed the spelling of Reilly to Riley. Thomas Michael married Jean Bowie in 1929 in Santa Paula, California. I was born there in 1936 and named James Ronald Riley. I married Dorothy McCaron in 1959 and we have three children and seven granchildren.
