Migrated to/Born in Australia
Mary Ann O'Gorman and her sister Bridget came out to Australia on the "Thomas Arbuthnot" in 1849 as part of the Earl Gray Scheme, arriving in Sydney on 3 February 1850. As the sisters came from the Ennis Workhouse I'm assuming that their father, John O'Gorman (a farmer), had already died. Their mother was Bridget Cassidy, daughter of Stephen Cassidy, and sister to Michael. Michael and his wife Ellen Dwyer, as well as his sister Mary, came out to Sydney Australia in 1838 on the ship "Charles Kerr".
I would love to know something about John O'Gorman and Bridget Cassidy, the parents of my Great, Great Grandmother!
