My great grandfather was born somewhere between 1859 and 1864 according to the information in the US Census from 1900 to 1930.
A certificate of vaccination from Ireland dated 22 October 1864 records John Buckley from Glencarney with his parent Denis Buckley.
He immigrated to the US in 1880 or 1881 and probably landed in Philadelphia, PA but quickly settled in Baltimore, MD where he lived out his life. Family members state that he may have immigrated with a sister name Johanna.
In 1887 he married Delia Keady from Ireland. She died in 1926.
They had five sons: Dennis, Martin (my grandfather) John, Daniel, and William.
In 1928 he married Mary Kate ? also from Ireland. She had previously been married to a John Barrett and had a daughter Kathleen M. Barrett born in 1900.
