My relative John Kelly married Martha King who was from Kenssey, Wicklow. Her birthdate is around 1809 according to the information that I have.
Johns's parents, Timothy Kelly and Cecilly Farrell are from Templepatrick Westmeath. John and Martha emigrated to Canada around 1820. They might not have travelled together.
Any information back that far would be so very helpful. I know it is a long shot being back so far in the records search.

I checked the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were no Martha King baptismal records in Co. Wicklow.
Your subject line shows Joseph King and Elizabeth Smith. Were they the parents of Martha?

I looked into land records from the 1800's and did find quite a few King names in the area in and around Mullingar. Since Templepatrick is where my relatives are from, this made sense. Her and John Kelly's marriage certificate shows her being from County Wicklow area so perhaps she was born there and her parents may have moved on to the Mullingar area. I look forward to contacting the King family when I am back next fall.

Hi There I am delighted that you may be making progress, when I worked in Mullingar the senior man was Edward King and in the 1970's he would have be in his seventies but he had a son who would now be in his seventies in the business they were also substantial farmers. GQ.
