Patrick Hallanan b 1838 emigrated from Askilane to St. Louis, MO in 1859. He worked the River boats on the Mississippi. He married Bridget Hallanan by 1862. Their first children born in MO, later born in Sacramento, CA. They travelled via the Cape Horn to San Francisco abt 1868. They are on the 1870 SACramento, California Census with children: Ella Ann b 1862, Cecelia Bridget b. 1865, Mary Ann b. 1867, Margaret Ann b 1870 (in CA), James Patrick b 1872, Julia b. 1874, John Anthony b. 1875 and William H. b. 1878. On the 1874 Sacramento City Directory brothers Patrick Michael, and John Anthony were listed in the the Slater's Addition of Sacramento, CA. Who were his parents and other siblings?  We know he had a sister Mary b 1833 who married Patrick Keane and stayed in Mayo. Another sister Bridget married a Courts in CA. Another brother Michael Hester settled in Alameda Co., CA.

  • Here is a marriage recod from rootsireland for a Patrick Keane and a Mary Hallinane of Askilane. However, this Mary was 22 in 1881 and your Mary would have been 48.
