James Hunt was born about 1773 and based on the birth year of daughter Ann, married Margaret Hunt about 1793.  From his FindAGrave 3520877, all the Hunt family were from Cavan, Ireland.  Children born there included: Ann, Jane, Lydia, John, Robert, Thomas, another son and Eliza.  The family emigrated sometime between the 1816 birth of Eliza and the 1823 Tax Assessment in Beverly Township, now part of Hamilton, Ontario.  They were on Lot 34, Conc 3 shared with son-in-law Robert Earl (Ann), north of Hwy 5, between Westover Rd and Middleton Rd, and bisected by Sodom Rd.   James died 29 Nov 1826 and is buried in Copetown, almost 10 Km away from where they were living.

This may have been a family graveyard as there is another James Hunt born 1776 and died 26 Feb 1862, perhaps a cousin?  There are several Land Petitions in the name of Hunt.  Also there is 1829 Beverly Township Tax Assessment, Hunt names on image 51/52-  Moses D Hunt Lot 15 Conc 1 with 8 in the family and Jeremiah S Hunt with 4 in the family, lot and concession not specified.  Jeremiah S Hunt is also on the 1851 agricultural census conc 10 lot 4 Flamborough East, Wentworth County, shared with Christopher Kerr, Philip Hunt and William Hunt. Jeremaih is still on that same property in the 1874 County Atlas.
